You are invited to a join a loving-kindness meditation class for beginners in which we will learn a contemplative method of offering kindness and compassion toward ourselves and others, and cultivate a wise and open heart.
Class format: The class will last an hour and will include an introduction, some instruction, and then a guided, seated meditation for 20-30 minutes. We'll then wrap up with a debrief and discussion.
No prior meditation experience is necessary. Bring a pillow or cushion if you would like to sit on the floor or you are welcome to sit in a chair.
Eliza Barclay is a mindfulness teach-in-training at the Engaged Mindfulness Institute in Massachusetts and facilitates community meditation classes around DC. She is also a science and health journalist.
